چکیده

Security policy management for a dynamic coalition with multiple members, each with its own policy requirements and mechanisms, and with limited mutual trust, is a complex task. In this paper, we present the architecture of MSME, a system that addresses this problem by providing mechanisms to express security requirements for large groups abstractly; exchange and reconcile these communication requirements among members of a group; and automatically bind these abstract requirements to mechanisms that can enforce them at different levels of the TCP/IP

Federated Security Management for Dynamic Coalitions

The Smart Firewalls project within the DARPA Dynamic Coalitions program has developed technologies to (i) specify high-level network-wide security policy, (ii) monitor and check network policy compliance from low-level configuration settings of network devices, and (iii) generate new device configurations to bring the system to a policy-compliant state. Our previous demonstration showed a singl...

Integrated Security Services for Dynamic Coalitions

Coalitions are collaborative networks of autonomous domains where resource sharing is achieved by the distribution of access permissions to coalition members based on negotiated resource-sharing agreements. The focus of our research is on dynamic coalitions, namely, coalitions where member domains may leave or new domains may join during the life of the coalition. We have developed a set of too...

Automatic Management of Network Security Policy

This paper describes work in our project funded by DARPA Dynamic Coalitions program to design, develop, and demonstrate a system for automatically managing security policies in dynamic networks.. Specifically, we aim to reduce human involvement in network management by building a practical network reconfiguration system so that simple security policies stated as positive and negative invariants...

Dynamic Administrative Coalitions with WebComDAC

User authorisation is traditionally coordinated by system administrators processing delegation requests. This overhead influences an enterprise's ability to respond efficiently and contributes to the total cost of ownership. We propose to reduce this bottleneck by supporting Dynamic Administrative Coalitions of ordinary users that hold administrative powers reflecting their authority. These coa...

Neo-Liberalism, Policy Incoherence and Discourse Coalitions Influencing Non-Communicable Disease Strategy; Comment on “How Neoliberalism Is Shaping the Supply of Unhealthy Commodities and What This Means for NCD Prevention”

Lencucha and Thow have highlighted the way in which neo-liberalism is enshrined within institutional mechanisms and conditions the policy environment to shape public policy on non-communicable diseases (NCDs). They critique the strong (but important) focus of public health policy research on corporate interests and influence over NCD policy, and point toward neo-liberal...
